How Ukrainians are trying to import expensive cars at an undervalued price and how it may end...

The State Fiscal Service claims that there have been an increased number of attempts to import luxury cars with a declared value much lower than the actual amount. The customs service has prepared illustrative examples of such attempts.A citizen of Ukraine tried to import a car brand Lamborghini Huracan Coupe, 2017, with a declared invoice value of 71.2 thousand euros. Customs officers requested information from their colleagues from the FRG, and it turned out that the value of this car is 193 thousand euros.

The amount of under-received customs payments is about 2.3 million hryvnias.

It should be noted that when clearing the car its owner must pay customs duty (up to 10% of the customs value), excise duty and VAT (20% of the sum of the customs value of the car, excise duty and import duty).

Another car manufactured in 2017 tried to be imported through Volyn. Mercedes-Benz model V-Klasse according to the invoice cost 12 thousand Euros. The Volyn customs office of the State Customs Service sent a letter to the German customs authorities. In response, a copy of the customs declaration was received, according to which the Mercedes was exported with a value of 48.5 thousand Euros. The amount of under-received customs payments amounted to 500 thousand UAH.
A similar car, but one year older, was tried to be imported with a declared value of 23.9 thousand euros. German customs officers reported that it was sold for 48.5 thousand euros.

But when importing a brand new Mercedes-Benz G 350 D, the owner indicated the invoice invoice value of 49 thousand euros. The real price was 84.5 thousand euros. In this case, the car was seized and transferred to responsible storage. The amount of under-received customs payments amounted to 900 thousand UAH.

In order to reduce the amount of VAT and duties, importers of cars try to underestimate their real value by two to four times. When the difference is too obvious, Ukrainian customs officers submit requests to the countries from where these cars are imported.

Therefore, it is necessary to properly, according to all customs regulations, formalize the imported vehicle, BEFORE YOU BUY IT IN EUROPE .... in which we can help you by using our European company "AUTOGERMANY" to avoid the above mentioned problems....
