In vain, Auto Euro Force activists hoped that in 2018 the issue of legalization of cars with euron numbers, which were brought to Ukraine not quite legally, would be successfully resolved. The government has developed a bill that regulates the transit and temporary importation of cars into Ukraine, but drivers of "Euroblyakh" should not expect anything good from it.
What the officials have come up with: The new bill prohibits the transfer of the right to drive a car with euro license plates, which is imported into Ukraine. Thus, only a non-resident, who imported the car to Ukraine, will be able to drive a "Euroblyah". According to Nina Yuzhanina, who is the head of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Customs and Tax Policy, it will be impossible to transfer a car with foreign registration to a citizen of Ukraine.
In addition, the government is considering a norm that implies granting the police the right to detain "Eurobalyahi", which violated the rules of stay on the territory of Ukraine, and escort such cars to the border.
Expensive car customs clearance
The main reason why Ukrainians buy "Eurobucks" is their unwillingness to pay exorbitant customs duties to the State Budget. Activists demand to minimize duty rates for "Eurobucks" already imported to Ukraine, so that such cars could be legalized without paying the full amount of the stipulated payments to the budget.
Nina Yuzhanina said that the draft law provides for a temporary reduction of duty rates for such cars, but the calculation of payments will be made taking into account the age of the vehicle.
Currently, customs clearance of a car manufactured in 2014 with a gasoline engine of 2.2 liters and customs value of about 400 thousand hryvnias will cost a Ukrainian 8300 euros. Of course, drivers do not agree with such rates and demand to reduce the amount of payments.
The rates will be reduced "cunningly"
The new bill provides that the average customs clearance of "euroblyahi" will cost half as much. However, there is a very clever catch, because the calculation of the rate will be made depending on the age of the car. The older the car, the more duties will have to be paid for it. The benefits will apply only to cars not older than 2010. As you know, most of the "Euroblyakhs" imported into Ukraine bypassing customs rules are much older and do not fall under this privilege. Naturally, activists are not delighted with the options proposed by the government.
Once again history proves that no one can cheat the system. But the drivers of Euroblihas, cheating the state, did not think about the consequences of their car scams.
